GUUAM VIRTUAL LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNING SESSION CONCLUDES

A three-month planning session of GUUAM law enforcement bodies concluded its work today in Baku. Each of the five GUUAM counties (Georgia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan & Moldova) were represented by law enforcement and information technology experts. The experts worked together to develop an action plan to set up the GUUAM Virtual Law Enforcement Center, which will link the five countries and coordinate efforts to combat terrorism, narcotics trafficking and trafficking in persons. The United States contributed $100,000 in support of this project.
