American "Jazz Ambassadors" to Perform in Baku

The Embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce
that the Kelley Johnson Quartet, State Department-sponsored "Jazz
Ambassadors," are coming to Baku June 11-14. They will perform
a public concert on Saturday, June 12, at 7 p.m. at the Baku Jazz
Center (19, Rashid Behbudov Street), and a "jam session"
with Azeri musicians on Sunday, June 13, at 8 p.m. at the Baku
Jazz Club (4, Aziz Aliyev Street). Both events are free and open
to the public.
In addition, the jazz quartet will offer a free master class for
all Baku music schools on June 14 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
at the Baku Jazz Center.
The Kelley Johnson Quartet, affiliated with the Kennedy Center
in Washington D.C., was selected through a series of highly competitive
auditions to participate in this U.S. State Department-sponsored
"Jazz Ambassadors" project. The Kelley Johnson Quartet
is touring several CIS countries, performing classical jazz music,
and Baku will be the first city on their itinerary.
